Some hopeful fans are calling the two Wednesday episodes of Scrubs a “Comedy Wednesday” tryout, a more likely scenario is that these episodes are merely being burned off. Now, ABC.com is calling next week’s episode the “Series Finale.”

24 is three things: Expensive, Aging, and trending downward in the ratings. So it should come as a surprise to no one that Fox is about to let the clock run out.

CBS announced today it is ordering a second season of Undercover Boss in what is likely the least-surprising news of the season. No official mention of how many episodes or how they will manage to slide CEOs into their own companies without being noticed this time around.

Fox announces summer schedule

Lie To Me finally returns to finish season 2, but is it a burn-off? Normally, it seems that when a show is picked off the lineup after a fall run and then banished to the summer doldrums, it would appear that way. In this case, however, I think it has more to do with Fox having too many shows and too little real estate. If they wanted to burn it off, they would shove it on Fridays. I think they ultimately chose Fringe over Lie to Me for the fall lineup and are testing Lie to Me to see if there is some life in it when it’s plopped in the lineup to fend for itself in June. To the contrary, Past Life is nothing more than a burn-off, as it will be running its remaining episodes on Fridays, beginning with a two hour event that will kill off remaining episodes even faster (think: Dollhouse last December.)
Here is the rest of Fox’s summer line-up, as announced by the network today.

ABC did not announce an early renewal for “Castle” as it did for “The Middle,” “Modern Family,” and “Cougar Town,” but it did something almost as good: It announced a sequel to the hit novel “Heat Wave” by Richard Castle. The second book by Richard Castle will be released in September, leading one to believe a third season of the fun detective drama is looking like a pretty solid possibility. Here’s the ABC press release:
