CW reviving another classic Fox show?

An interesting rumor found it’s on to my table today regarding another Fox remake. What is it?
Ally McBeal. Wait, what? Let’s break it down a bit -
CW is trying to attract a young, female audience. Ally McBeal could be the perfect fit.
CW has already remade two classic Fox shows before (90210, Melrose Place). (And yes, I know they are not Fox owned shows but shows that ran on the Fox network)
CW is hurting for new shows after the failure of The Beautiful Life and (soon) Melrose Place.
The Complete Series finally arrived on DVD last month.
But who would play the ‘new’ Ally? How about someone who is sort of a star and recently guest-starred on five episodes of Gossip Girl? I won’t name names but connect the dots…
What do YOU think? Would a new version of the show work? What ever happened to Ally’s daughter from the last season? Could that…hmmm….

Because the 90210 and Melrose Place remakes were such a success?
At least they are not trying to do a Buffy remake…
the time between remakes seems to get shorter and shorter…
I’m enjoying “90210″ and “Melrose Place,” but there is no way they can do this to “Ally McBeal.”
Hillery Duff as Ally?
My first thought was that they’re remaking Parker Louise(sp?).
Well, he certainly can’t lose!
Parker Lewis? The C-Dub’s out of the [intentional] comedy business.
I say forgot Ally let’s go for Party of 5!!!
If the CW wants a hit they need to convince Joss Whedon that he should give in and d that Faith spinoff. It’s not as if his attempts to do non Buffy related stuff has proven a gold mine.
Chris,
Eliza has a deal at Fox…I don’t think she could do it even if she wanted to.
I know she has a deal but exactly how long is it for? I should be expiring within a year or so shouldn’t it.
If memory serves, wasn’t Buffy/Angel produced by Fox?
Are there no new ideas anymore?
Since when is Ally McBeal “classic”? It ended in 2002!
Try a real classic, CW. Or if not, maybe something that has proven cult status, like “My So-Called Life.”
Can’t believe they’re looking at this after turning down The Body Politic.
I always ask this when it gets brought up – has anyone here seen The Body Politic?
Awesome.
Hey what’s this i hear about that Chuck is coming back on Jan. 10th for 2 hours?
@t brad

I’m sure plenty of people who were interested have, since it leaked forever ago, but people didn’t need to see the whole thing to still be interested in the cast and premise and think it was better than any of this crap.
Ugh, when’s Nick C. going to start posting? I’d rather wait weeks at a time for him to post something behind-the-scenes and interesting than have daily, useless updates like this.
Is it certain that we’re talking about a new Ally or all we know for now is that “a classic show will be remade”?
NickC was captured by grizzly bears so at the moment he can’t post.
Goerge, thank you for the link.
I can’t beleive the CW picked up TBL and not Body Politic. Did they realy expect TBL to not to fail?
They could still pick it up for March if they want. As long as they keep Minka Kelly and Jason Dohring they can recast anyone else.
Please, no. Horrible idea. Ally McBeal was a caricature of itself by the end of the run. It doesn’t need to be re-made.
