Fox, which was burning off Past Life during Fringe’s winter hiatus and opposite the olympics, decided three episodes (including one in the plum post-Idol) slot was enough.

After squandering its lead-in (a Bones repeat) for the past two weeks and thus dragging down Fox’s Thursday averages, the network has pulled the show off its lineup effective immediately.   The network plans to finishing burning off the burn-off at a later date (ouch!  Even ‘Til Death is getting the Sunday at 7 treatment!)  This hardly comes as a surprise though, given its poor performance last night:  Overnight numbers project 3.49 million viewers and a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo.  At least ABC’s burn-off The Deep End managed to break 4 million to go with that 1.1 demo!  (Admission: I kind of like The Deep End, but that’s something for another time.)
