Ok, so ’tis the season (or my season anyway) and what better way to show some of my “Holiday Spirit” than to share some of my favorite Horror movies! I write Horror and Sci-fi news so there are way many more movies on my favorites list just letting yall know, this could have been a Top 50 list! Tell me what yall think! What’s your favorites?

5.A Nightmare On Elm Street- Wes Craven’s masterpiece and a timeless Horror classic! Nightmare introduced us to Freddy Krueger(Robert Englund) and his clawed glove and made us afraid to go to sleep and dream. Be on the lookout for the Nightmare remake in Spring of 2010 as Jakie Earle Haley(Watchmen) takes over Freddy’s glove and trademark sweater!

4.2001 Maniacs- This is my guilty pleasure! Writer/Director Tim Sullivan’s fun gore fest featuring the dead residents of Pleasant Valley who enjoy a good party and devouring their party guests! Robert Englund plays Mayor Buckman who leads the cast packed full of familiar faces and many cameos! Be on the look out early spring 2010 for 2001 Maniacs 2: Beverly Hellbillys and please sign my Petition to Lionsgate Home Video to release the Director’s Cut of 2001 Maniacs!

3.Phantasm- This cult classic might be the most under-rated Horror movie of all time. The Tall Man played by Horror legend Angus Scrimm gives you chills watching his mannerisms and listening to the few words he speaks. This is Don Coscarelli’s indie masterpiece and if you haven’t seen it you should check it out!

2.Hellraiser- This movie born from Clive Barker’s ‘The Hellbound Heart’ might be the creepiest film i’ve ever seen. Clive Barker introduced us to the iconic Pinhead and his Cenobite army who comes when the Lamont Configuration(the puzzle box) is opened to show you the pleasure of pain!

1. Halloween- Are you kidding me? This is THE Halloween/Horror movie! John Carpenter’s Opus and probably the movie that sucked me in to what i love! Michael Myers, the silent pale-faced (William Shatner) mask wearing killer who wreaks havoc on October 31st. oh and don’t forget the freaky music! Everybody knows that tune!
